Assisted Dynamic stretching
Assisted Dynamic stretching
Assisted stretching is also known as proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation or PNF stretching.
Assisted stretch exercises work wonders in improving flexibility by gradually elongating muscles and releasing tightness by breaking down adhesions and scar tissue. This process increases the length of muscle fibers, allowing them to stretch further without resistance.
The practitioner provides just enough assistance to push slightly beyond what you can do on your own, without causing strain. The results are dramatic: within minutes, ROM of a joint can increase up to 60 degrees.
